The U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam is thrilled to announce the U.S.-Tanzania Tech Challenge, a competition designed to unearth and support innovative solutions that strengthen civic engagement, media literacy, and information integrity in Tanzania.

Here’s the exciting news:

  • Funding for Changemakers: Up to three winning organizations will receive grants totaling $250,000 USD to implement their ideas.
  • Showcase Your Tech Solutions: We invite applications from private sector companies and civil society organizations across Tanzania. Up to eight finalists will present their tech-based solutions to a panel of judges and stakeholders from government, civil society, and the private sector.
  • Focus on Impact: Proposals should address ways to:
    • Bolster civic responsibility and community engagement.
    • Expand access to digital literacy resources, especially in areas with limited media access.
    • Develop innovative tools like education programs, gaming platforms, fact-checking solutions, and content authentication systems.
