Community Guidelines

You agree to participate in the recommended communities of ‘Tanzania Tech’ according to the Community Guidelines of Tanzania Tech listed below:

Regarding your contributions:

• Contributions must be informative and engaging.
• Disruptive, offensive, or abusive behavior is not allowed; contributions must be constructive, respectful, without malicious intent, and not intended to cause harm.
• Illegal contributions are not permitted: contributions that are illegal, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, offensive, sexually explicit, racially discriminatory, or otherwise unacceptable are not allowed.
• Be tolerant: Users of all ages and abilities may participate in the relevant Tanzania Tech communities.
• Off-topic or harmful contributions are not allowed. We do not allow submitting a contribution that has been used or closely resembles previous discussions. Please do not resubmit your contribution multiple times or contribute information that is off-topic in specific areas.
• Advertising or self-promotion is not allowed.
• Contributions in languages other than your own (for example, Swahili) may be removed unless permitted by the laws of the relevant region or country.
• Impersonation of another person is not allowed.
• Unacceptable usernames are not allowed (e.g., offensive usernames).
• URLs (website addresses) can only be submitted or shared if permitted and within the guidelines of the relevant organization.
• Deliberate misuse of the complaint submission area is not allowed. A continued violation may result in action being taken against your account.

Your Tanzania Tech account

If you use multiple logins to disrupt the community or harass other users, action may be taken against all your accounts. All accounts must be registered with a valid personal email address that you regularly use to receive emails.

Accounts registered using someone else’s email address or temporary email addresses may be closed without notice. We may require users to re-verify their accounts if we believe they have been using an incorrect email address.

Tanzania Tech reserves the right to close accounts if any user is found to be using IP addresses to attempt to use multiple Tanzania Tech accounts, if a non-Tanzanian user pretends to be a Tanzanian user, or if a user disrupts our services in any way.

Security

We strongly advise against sharing personal or anyone else’s sensitive information publicly in any Tanzanian tech community.

Legal Requirements

Do not submit or exchange any contribution that is defamatory or illegal in any way within the Tanzania Tech communities. This includes text, graphics, film clips, programs, and audio.

• Contributions to Tanzanian tech communities that are intended to incite or promote illegal activities are strictly prohibited.
• You agree to submit or exchange with Tanzania Tech communities only contributions that are your own original work. Do not infringe upon or violate the rights of Tanzania Tech or any other parties, including copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, privacy, publicity, or ownership rights.

If you are under the age of 16:

• Please obtain the permission of your parent or guardian before participating in any Tanzania Tech community.
• Never disclose personal information about yourself or anyone else (such as school, phone number, full name, home address, or email address).

If you violate these community guidelines

If you fail to follow these Community Guidelines (and/or any others specific to the relevant organization) while participating in Tanzania Tech communities, you will receive an email notifying you of the rejection or editing of your contribution.

The email will also serve as a warning that continued violations of these guidelines may result in action being taken against your account(s).

This action may include reviewing any contributions submitted by you before they are allowed on the website, temporarily or permanently suspending your ability to participate in specific areas or the entirety of Tanzania Tech communities.

If you submit or exchange offensive or unacceptable contributions to any Tanzania Tech communities or engage in disruptive behavior within Tanzania Tech or elsewhere, and Tanzania Tech considers the impact of such behavior to be significant and/or repeated, Tanzania Tech may use any available information to prevent further violations.

This may include notifying other parties, such as employers, schools, or email service providers, about the violation.

Tanzania Tech has the right to delete any contribution or take action against any Tanzania Tech account at any time for any reason.

Denial and Limitation of Liability

The majority of contributions submitted in Tanzanian tech communities are made by the public. The opinions expressed are their own, and unless otherwise stated, those opinions are not attributable to Tanzania Tech or Tanzania Tech Media.

Tanzania Tech and Tanzania Tech Media are not responsible for the content of any public contributions made in Tanzania Tech or for the availability or contributions of any other external websites accessible through Tanzania Tech.

Any links to external websites from Tanzania Tech do not imply endorsement by Tanzania Tech or Tanzania Tech Media, and any use of such websites is at your own risk.

Tanzania Tech contributions, including information, names, images, and logos associated with Tanzania Tech and Tanzania Tech Media, are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. Tanzania Tech and Tanzania Tech Media do not warrant that the functionality available on Tanzania Tech will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that Tanzania Tech or the server that makes it available are free from viruses.

You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to use appropriate software and conduct virus checks (including anti-virus and other security checks) to satisfy your specific requirements for the accuracy of data input and output.

The failure or delay of Tanzania Tech to enforce or exercise any of these terms does not constitute a waiver of that right.

Warranty and Liability

Tanzania Tech apps and Tanzania Tech Content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, and by downloading, installing, and using Tanzania Tech app and viewing Tanzania Tech Content, you do so at your own discretion and risk.

General

If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable for any reason in any country or jurisdiction where these terms are intended to be effective, then to the extent and within the legal capacity in which such provision is unlawful, void, or unenforceable, it shall be deemed severed from these terms, and the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid and enforceable.

Failure or delay by Tanzania Tech to exercise or enforce any right in these terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right.

The use of the Tanzania Tech website is subject to the laws and regulations of Tanzania, which shall be interpreted in accordance with Tanzanian law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tanzanian courts.
